Chelsea's plans to return to training revealed after coronavirus scare

Chelsea were one of the main Premier League teams to be directly affected by Covid-19 when it hit the UK.

One of their star players, Callum Hudson-Odoi, tested positive for the virus, shutting down the first team area of the Cobham training ground and sending the players into self-isolation.

The winger has come through the virus and the self-isolation period for the Blues is now over.

However, the club will not be returning to training at Cobham just yet with the Premier League having pushed back the earliest start date as April 30.

How Christian Pulisic is helping during the coronavirus pandemic

football.london understands that the Blues won’t be back at training until at least April 6 as a provisional date.

However, that will not be set in stone as it could be dictated by any further announcements by the FA and Premier League over possible future postponements.

The Blues players have been given personal training regimes to work from home, with the club also confirming that they provided exercise bikes to help keep fitness levels up.

When football does eventually return, the Blues have nine Premier League matches to fit in to try to seal their spot in the top four.

Meanwhile, they still have the Champions League last 16 second leg match at Bayern Munich and FA Cup quarter-final vs Leicester City to play.

However, the Blues will follow the lead of any more Uefa and FA announcements when it comes to when the season might kick off again.
