Chelsea's path to the Champions League final revealed with Blues to face Porto in last eight

Chelsea must overcome Porto and one of either Liverpool or Real Madrid if they are to reach this season's Champions League final in Istanbul.

Thomas Tuchel's side secured their place in the last eight of the competition on Wednesday night having completed an impressive 3-0 aggregate victory against Atletico Madrid.

It is the first time since 2014 that the Blues have gone beyond the Round of 16 and, given the 13-game unbeaten run Chelsea are currently on under Tuchel, fans are starting to believe a run to the final, which will be played on Saturday, May 29, is possible.

In order to reach that point, however, Chelsea must navigate their way beyond Porto in the quarter-finals.

The Portuguese side eliminated Juventus in the Round of 16 stage but have endured an inconsistent campaign in the Primeira Liga, where they sit ten points behind leaders Sporting.

Chelsea's matches against Porto will be played on April 6/7 and April 13/4, with the first leg scheduled for Stamford Bridge.

If the Blues are able to advance beyond Porto, they will take on one of either Real Madrid or Liverpool in the semi-finals.

Chelsea faced Jurgen Klopp's Reds at Anfield at the start of the month and recorded an impressive 1-0 victory courtesy of Mason Mount's stunning strike.

Meanwhile, Blues have never faced Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The last meeting between the two clubs came in the 1998 UEFA Super Cup. Chelsea won that game 1-0 with a goal from Gus Poyet at the Stade Louis II in Monaco.

If Tuchel's side are able to reach the final in Istanbul, they would be the 'away' club in that game.
