Chelsea's one condition in Romelu Lukaku transfer talks as Thomas Tuchel has new motive

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to up their bid for Romelu Lukaku, but are not yet willing to meet Inter Milan's demands.

The Blues are readying a third offer for the Belgian striker after two previous failed attempts.

It's believed the Serie A side want £110m for their prized asset with the former Manchester United forward keen on a return to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea previously offered Marcos Alonso as a makeweight in one of their bids, but the Italians were not interested in the Spanish left-back.

But it's a route Thomas Tuchel's men are still looking to go down as they prepare to offer another fringe star in a cash-plus-player deal.

They are willing to increase the cash part of the deal from £85m to £100m, but hope the exchange of a player are terms that Inter will accept.

Talks are still ongoing on Friday, but Chelsea are confident they can get a deal over the finish line as there is constructive dialogue between both parties.

The Blues are also motivated to re-sign Lukaku so that they can break a record set by Manchester City when they signed Jack Grealish on Thursday night.

Pep Guardiola's men spent £100m on the midfielder, the most expensive player in British history.

But it's a record that might not stand for long if Chelsea have anything to with it as they look to get one over rivals with the signing of Lukaku.

Lukaku's agent Federico Pastorello has spoken out for the first time following the recent transfer links that could potentially see the striker return to Stamford Bridge.

He has increased speculation and optimism among the Chelsea supporters as he seemed to suggest that a move could be happening after his response to Inter fans who left angry comments on his Instagram page

He said: "Thank you for these words of yours. You will be able to hear our reasons soon, however this turns out."

Pastorello would later delete his comment.
