Chelsea face an uphill battle should they wish to make it through to the Champions League quarter finals.
The Blues were in action vs German giants Bayern Munich at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the round of 16 tie.
However, things didn't go to plan for Frank Lampard's side with a brace from former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry and a Robert Lewandowski goal giving Bayen a 3-0 lead going into the second leg of the tie.
The Blues will also be without midfielder Jorginho after he picked up a yellow card and defender Marcos Alonso after he was shown a straight red card after a VAR review.
Chelsea went into the game not only looking to take an advantage into the second leg, but to also maintain their excellent home record against German opposition.
In their last 10 visits to Stamford Bridge German clubs have failed to take a win away, with Chelsea recording eight wins and two draws.
The latest of the wins came in the Europa League semi-final last season as the Blues beat Eintracht Frankfurt 5-4 on penalties.
The last time Bayern Munich visited Stamford Bridge, Chelsea recorded a 4-2 win in the Champions League quarter final in April 2005. Joe Cole, Frank Lampard (x2) and Didier Drogba were on the scoresheet for the Blues that night.
Chelsea know that they will need to score at least three goals without reply at the Allianz Arena in order to have a chance of making it through to the next stage of the tournament.
