Chelsea's dream scenario to catch up on Liverpool and Man City in the title race this weekend

Chelsea are back in Premier League action this weekend as they take on fellow London team Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge in Saturday's early kick off.

The Blues go into the game in fourth place in the table, having won their last five league matches. Frank Lampard's men are joint on points with third place Leicester City, having picked up 23 points from their opening 11 games of the season.

The recent form has seen Lampard be named as the Premier League manager of the month for October, as the Blues continue to put pressure on both the teams above and below them.

Chelsea do however face a tough test in Roy Hodgson's men, with the Eagles enjoying a decent start to the season, the Eagles are in ninth place in the table, having won four and drew three of their 11 games.

It seems that with a six point gap over Arsenal in fifth place, the Blues won't have too much to lose at the weekend in terms of the table.

Should Chelsea beat Crystal Palace and results in the Leicester vs Arsenal and Liverpool vs Man City matches go their way, then the Blues could find themselves in second place, behind Liverpool in the Premier League by the end of the weekend.

The Blues could also open up a gap which could be as big as nine points over fifth place Arsenal by the end of Saturday afternoon.
