Chelsea's conditions for last gasp Saul transfer as Jules Kounde alters signing stance

Chelsea are weighing up a last gasp loan move for Saul Niguez with one week left of the transfer window.

Thomas Tuchel is looking for reinforcements to solidify their Premier League title chances this season following the arrival of Romelu Lukaku.

And Saul has emerged as a potential target, according to the Telegraph as the midfielder's future at Atletico Madrid is still to be resolved.

The Spaniard has been linked with an exit from the reigning La Liga champions for the duration of the summer, but no move has materialised yet.

Manchester United emerged as a possible landing spot with reports his representatives travelled to the UK for talks.

But it's the Blues who are the latest side who have registered an interest in Saul as they consider a loan offer which Madrid could entertain if they can't offload him on a permanent basis.

But Tuchel will need to get rid of a few fringe players before they can make any more additions.

Kurt Zouma has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea are in talks with West Ham.

Tuchel's men would prefer to trim the area in the middle of the park, however, as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ethan Ampadu, Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko are all available for the right price.

Meanwhile, Chelsea remain interested in a move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, but talks have been progressing slowly.

The Frenchman is said to be keen on a switch to west London, but as negotiations have dragged on and the deadline nears, Kounde is now prepared to stay with the Spanish club if a move to Chelsea does not go through, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues are determined to bring in the 22-year-old before the end of the transfer window but are yet to table an official offer.

But it seems like they'll have their work cut out as Kounde will not force through a move away from Seville.
