Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger attracting interest from European giants

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are tracking Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger as the German’s contract talks with the Blues rumble on.

Rudiger is into the final year of his contract at Chelsea and he is yet to reach an agreement with them over fresh terms.

That has sparked interest from both PSG and Real Madrid, who are monitoring the centre-back’s situation at Stamford Bridge. If Rudiger does not agree fresh terms with Chelsea, both clubs will be able to enter official talks with the German in January about signing a pre-contract agreement ahead of a free transfer next summer.

Chelsea want to keep hold of Rudiger and have been in talks with him over a new contract throughout the summer. The 28-year-old has been one of the standout performers under Thomas Tuchel, who views him as a key part of his defence going forward. Rudiger had previously slipped down the pecking order under old boss Frank Lampard, but he has won his place back now.
