Chelsea will get linked with a lot of players over the course of January, but there is one that doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

But for the Blues to pay out the £50million that the Seagulls want for their centre-back, would make no sense at all.

There is no doubt that Dunk has been an impressed talent for Brighton, and has been a key reason for them staying in the Premier League.
However, for what Lampard is building at Stamford Bridge, to go for the defender would be pretty out of character.
Andreas Christensen has been one player linked with a move away from west London, however Lampard ruled out the Dane's departure this month.
The centre-back's performance against Burnley also showed the quality that he does have and it's likely that he will be sticking around.
Meanwhile, Antonio Rudiger remains the number one centre-back, with Fikayo Tomori seen as the future of the Blues, having just signed a new five-year contract.
The one player who could be in danger is Kurt Zouma, but for now there doesn't seem to be a lot of movement in and out of that position.
The Blues have struggled defensively this season, with clean sheets having been hard to come back, but a big-money move for Dunk would probably not fix that.
At 28, the centre-back has Premier League experience, but may not have the impact that the Blues would want or the extra quality to usurp those already in the position.
Lampard has been keen to quick to reiterate that the Blues would not spend money for the sake of it, which the Dunk deal could be.
