Chelsea receive Andrey Santos boost as Romelu Lukaku feud reignited by Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The international break was no time to pause for much of Chelsea's loan army. Whether it was being called up to represent their national sides or representing a team in League One, the Blues loan contingent have been busy over the last seven days.

The west London side have seen youngsters earn debuts, pick up age-group experience and some good results. More experienced heads have picked up much-needed confidence boosts while others have had to suffer or enjoy not having as much to do.

football.london takes a look at the 21 players the Blues have out on loan this term, below:

Nathan Baxter - The goalkeeper has not been named in Hull's EFL squad for the remainder of the season as he recovers from injury with Chelsea.

Eddie Beach - Eddie Beach has been on international duty for Wales under-21s side and kept a clean sheet as his side defeated their Scottish counterparts 3-0.

Jamie Cumming - The young goalkeeper kept a clean sheet as MK Dons beat Morecambe 1-0 and has now not conceded for 338 minutes.

Teddy Sharman-Lowe - The keeper was in goal for Havant & Waterlooville as they lost 3-2 away to Worthing.

Max Merrick - Was on the bench as Hanwell Town lost 3-1 to Swindon Supermarine.

Malang Sarr - The Frenchman was not involved in Monaco's friendly against Spezia.

Ethan Ampadu - The Wales international featured in midfield as Rob Page's side earned a last-gasp draw against Croatia and even spent some time with the captain's armband during the match.

Levi Colwill - Colwill featured in England Under-21s' 4-0 win over France and put in an impressive performance.

Bashir Humphreys - The defender, on loan at Paderborn, completed 90 minutes for England Under-20s as they defeated Germany 2-0 before appearing as a substitute for the side against the USA in a 4-2 win, in which Harvey Vale scored.

Malo Gusto - The defender continues his rehabilitation on his hamstring injury and has spent time in London.

Henry Lawrence - The defender made his 34th appearance of the season and featured as MK Dons' right wingback as they defeated Morecambe.

Ian Maatsen - Maatsen is currently away with the Dutch Under-21s side and played in the second half of a 3-0 win over their Norwegian counterparts.

Sam McClelland - The Northern Irish defender started in the centre of defence as Barrow defeated AFC Wimbledon 2-1.

Baba Rahman - The defender is not expected to be available for Reading until after the international break.

Dujon Sterling - The Stoke loanee had no fixture due to the international break.

Tino Anjorin - The midfielder remains registered on loan at Huddersfield Town but is expected to remain out for the season following his ankle surgery.

Tiemoue Bakayoko - The midfielder continued to train with AC Milan during the international break.

Cesare Casadei - Casadei completed 90 minutes as Italy Under-21s defeated their Serbian counterparts 2-0. He also spoke about his current loan move to Reading and working under Paul Ince.

He said: "Paul Ince is a good coach. He was a great footballer, he also played in Italy so he's giving me a big hand. He trusted me right from the start, I'm very happy to have him as coach because I can learn so much from him."

The youngster also highlighted Ruben Loftus-Cheek as one of the Chelsea players he had been impressed by since joining in the summer.

Andrey Santos - The 18-year-old Brazilian made his first senior start on the international stage as the Selecao were defeated 2-1 by Morocco. The youngster featured for 65 minutes in what should be a positive step towards earning a work permit come the summer.

Santos also spoke to the press about joining up with the Blues following his loan to Vasco da Gama and Enzo Fernandez being one of his two favourite players at Stamford Bridge.

Romelu Lukaku - The Belgian forward notched a hat-trick as the Red Devils earned a 3-0 win over Sweden. After going more than one year without an international goal Lukaku netted his 71st international strike to see only four European players having recorded more in men's international football.

The game also saw Lukaku meet with Zlatan Ibrahimovic once again after their clash when playing for Inter and AC Milan in April 2021. The on loan Chelsea striker appears to have let the event go: "He is a warrior. That he does what he does at his age - hats off. No hard feelings, just respect."

Ibrahimovic on the other hand...

"I didn’t see him," said the forward, "I didn’t get close to him here. He got situations where he should score. He gets his goals, so he is happy. He wasn’t in the game much."

Callum Hudson-Odoi - The winger had no fixtures over the international break.
