Chelsea withdraw from Super League as team bus swarmed by irate supporters

Breakaway Chelsea have withdrawn from the controversial European Super League.

The news comes after angry fan protests outside Stamford Bridge before their Premier League clash with Brighton.

Thousands of fans flocked to the ground to voice their opposition to the Blues signing up as a founding member of the league.

An confrontation at the entrance to Stamford Bridge saw the team bus blocked as it arrived ahead of the Premier League clash.

Legendary goalkeeper Petr Cech was snapped trying to appease raging punters before kick-off.

Chelsea were announced as one of six English clubs to sign up to the controversial new competition report the BBC.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham are also on board as it stands alongside as are Atletico Madrid, Inter and Milan, Real Madrid, Atletico and Barcelona.
