Chelsea predicted lineup vs Arsenal - Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley available

Chelsea have a chance to quickly bounce back from Boxing Day disappointment as the hectic festive fixtures kick in.

The Blues have the short journey to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they take on Arsenal in what will be Mikel Arteta's first home game as head coach.

Frank Lampard's men will have to dust themselves down after falling to a 2-0 home defeat to Southampton in their last Premier League outing. Goals from Michael Obafemi and Nathan Redmond gave the Saints all three points to take back to the south coast.

With such a congested schedule, some Premier League managers could opt to make some changes to their starting 11 for the upcoming games, but will Lampard be one of them?

The Blues' head coach sprung a surprise in midfield in the match vs the Saints.

Mason Mount was left out of the starting eleven, with the Chelsea boss prefering Callum Hudson-Odoi instead, but the midfielder could be drafted back into the starting 11 at the Emirates Stadium.

Mateo Kovacic could also return to the squad after sitting out the Southampton match through suspension.

Ross Barkley made his return to the matchday squad and could now be called upon by Lampard should he wish to freshen up his midfield.

The only real absentee through injury is Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has been out of action since the end of last season.

A win over Arsenal on Sunday would increase the gap between the Blues and the Gunners to 10 points going into the second half of the season.
