Chelsea plot £50m Zaha swoop

Chelsea are preparing for transfer activity when their ban expires next summer and are readying a £50m swoop to bring Wilfried Zaha across the capital from Crystal Palace, the Independent states.

According to the report, Chelsea’s director of football Marina Granovskaia has made contact with football agent Federico Pastorello, who the Blues hope can help get a deal over the line.

Zaha was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal during the summer, who eventually moved for Nicolas Pepe, and it is unlikely he will stay at Selhurst Park for another season.

Arsenal rival Spurs for Godfrey

Arsenal are ready to renew their North London rivalry with Tottenham Hotspur in the transfer market as the two clubs are set to go head-to-head for Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey, Football Insider reports.

The 21-year-old has been ever-present in the Premier League this season for the Canaries and has caught the eye of Arsenal, who were impressed with his display in their recent 2-2 draw at Carrow Road.

However, Tottenham are also keen on the defender and a significant bidding war could emerge for the fight to secure the central defender’s signature.

Swansea move to sign Aston Villa target

Swansea City have made the first move to sign Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster on loan, according to WalesOnline, which will be a cause of concern for Aston Villa.

Villa have been extensively linked with the Anfield youngster, who could be on the move in January in order to build his experience in senior football.

Swansea’s approach could put them at the front of the queue though, although there are other clubs in the hunt with Leeds United and Crystal Palace also linked with a swoop for the teenager.

Burnley fight Sheffield United for non-league ace

Premier League duo Burnley and Sheffield United are set to lock horns in the January transfer market for the services of non-league sensation Paddy Lane, according to Football Insider .

The 18-year-old attacker has been earning reviews for his performances for Hyde United in the Betvictor Northern Premier League this season.

As a result, both Burnley and the Blades are keen on making the teenager the next contender to make the jump from amateur football to the highest level of English football.
