Chelsea players under threat as Marina Granovskaia sent comprehensive transfer message

Here is your Chelsea digest for Monday, July 13.

Five Chelsea players under threat

Frank Lampard sent out a clear message following Chelsea's loss to Sheffield United.

He said he learnt a lot from his side's porous display and that he would not be forgetting it quickly.

Lampard frustrated after Sheffield United thrashing

It surely means some players are on borrowed time with the Blues boss, who has already flexed his muscles in the summer transfer window.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, for example, looks a shadow of the goalkeeper who was brought to Stamford Bridge for a world record fee, whilst Andreas Christensen was once again bullied in the Blades defeat.

'Marina needs to up that bid'

Chelsea fans have been sent crazy following more impressive performances from Said Benrahma.

The Brentford star took his tally of league goals to 17 on Saturday after scoring twice in his side's 3-1 victory away at Derby County.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with the winger, who is said to be valued at £22.5m.

It led to some Blues fans calling on the club to up their bid and make sure they land the attacker next season.

Abraham explains Frank reaction

Tammy Abraham says Frank Lampard did not hold back when giving his appraisal of the Sheffield United defeat to his Chelsea side.

Lampard was clearly angry in his post-match interviews and Blues striker Abraham revealed that carried over into the dressing room, too.

"He let us know what he was feeling after the game," Abraham said of Lampard's reaction via the club's in-house media channel.

"We got into the changing room and we already knew ourselves so there wasn't much for him to say.

"We didn't start the game sharp but you have to give credit to Sheffield United for how they disrupted the way we wanted to play. They scored an early goal which frustrated us and we didn't react.

"In games like this we know we can't start slow and that's what we did. They got an early goal an that boosted them to put in a good performance.

"We changed our formation at half-time and played a bit better but by then we'd already made a few mistakes and they had scored two goals."
