Chelsea player ratings vs West Ham: Enzo Fernandez brilliant as Joao Pedro makes big impact

Chelsea recovered from two goals down to earn a dramatic late 3-2 win against West Ham.

The Blues were 2-0 down thanks to goals by Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville which had the Stamford Bridge crowd booing at half-time.

Liam Rosenior made a triple change at half-time and Joao Pedro and Marc Cucurella - two of those who came on - both scored to make it 2-2.

Enzo Fernandez then scored a late winner, before Jean-Clair Todibo was sent off in stoppage time for putting his hands on Joao Pedro’s neck.

Dom Smith was at Stamford Bridge to rate the Chelsea players’ performances…

Robert Sanchez 6

Not shown much help by his defenders as West Ham rallied. Saved well from Mateus Fernandes and Bowen.

Malo Gusto 5

Part of a defence that conceded two poor goals, and didn’t offer any attacking threat down the right.

Trevoh Chalobah 6

Composed in the air and also on the ball, passing well. Used his physicality at moments, too.

Benoit Badiashile 5

Fine in the air but not shown full faith because he was replaced at the halfway stage.

Jorrel Hato 5

Did OK to make a couple of tackles but partly at fault for the first goal and replaced at half-time.

Enzo Fernandez 8

A crucial part of Chelsea’s resurgent second half, carrying the ball forward and spreading wide - and then scoring their dramatic late winner.

Moises Caicedo 6

Plenty of tackling and harrying, including one or two fouls. Almost scored a late screamer but Alphonse Areola saved. Booked.

Jamie Gittens 5

Unlucky that injury forced him off midway through the first half. Would surely have helped unlock West Ham’s sturdy defence otherwise.

Cole Palmer 5

Saw a decent amount of the ball but still struggling to have the impact in games he’d like. OK. One shot on target from a direct free-kick.

Alejandro Garnacho 2

Someone had to be the worst player on the pitch, and on this occasion it was the Argentine. Intercepted far too often and miles off it. Subbed at half-time.

Liam Delap 4

Put himself about a bit, but almost in a performative way, flying in for aerial challenges when the ball was way gone. A difficult outing.

Subs:

Pedro Neto (Gittens, 26’) 4

Came on but had a frustrating time of it and was bundled off the ball too easily by the opposition - and his own team-mates (Gusto).

Joao Pedro (Garnacho, 46’) 7

Full of running, especially after bringing Chelsea back into the game with a clever header directed back in the direction from which the cross came. Then assisted the winning goal.

Marc Cucurella (Hato, 46’) 7

Played well on the left after replacing Hato and in the right place at the right time to head home the equaliser.

Wesley Fofana (Badiashile, 46’) 6

Did really well to burst forward and cross to assist the Joao Pedro goal that began the Chelsea comeback.

Reece James (Gusto, 81’) N/A

Not used: Sharman-Lowe, Santos, Acheampong, Guiu
