Chelsea player ratings vs Manchester United as Lewis Hall sets standard again, Fofana struggles

Kepa Arrizabalaga - Last ditch save when it looked like the ball was going to trickle over the line from Christian Eriksen and nearly prevent the home side's fourth but was pretty helpless in the 4-0 win. Made a series of late saves. 7.

Cesar Azpilicueta - Put in a good early block inside his own box and demanded more from his teammates when they were slow to start the game against the Red Devils. Produced an outstanding tackle on Anthony Martial to stop a certain goal in the 19th minute but was caught diving in on occasion. Twice recovered from knocks to continue, including after a goal-saving touch on a cross, but slowed as the game progressed.. 6.

Wesley Fofana - Was stretched with plenty of space in Chelsea's backline early in the game but does not fail to put his body on the line in a bid to win the ball. Shocking attempt at tackling Bruno Fernandes to give away a penalty in the second half after being nutmegged and backed it up with a pass towards Trevoh Chalobah that was cut out and led to Marcus Rashford's goal. 3.

Trevoh Chalobah - An uncertain start on the ball but on an evening where Chelsea's defence was stretched, performed well in individual moments to put in some good tackles. 5.

Lewis Hall - Perhaps should have watched Jadon Sancho's run ahead of Anthony Martial's goal but overall was a consistent presence down the left flank. Twice should have seen his crosses converted in the opening half and produced an incredible pass to Mykhailo Mudryk early in the second period. 7.

Enzo Fernandez - Looked to get forward more frequently and on occasion was frustrated with the lack of movement ahead of him. Some nice moments as always but his frustration started to boil over as he had a bit of a tussle with Jadon Sancho following Manchester United's third goal. 6.

Carney Chukwuemeka - Showed some driving runs and nice touches but could not dictate too much influence on the game. 5.

Conor Gallagher - A clumsy performance from the midfield maestro who should have scored late in the first half but could only drag his shot wide after being played in by Fernandez. Continued to put himself in the position to be influential for the Blues and found and showed for the balls when others didn't. 5.

Noni Madueke - Had some good moments down the right and looked to lead Chelsea into the box as part of some good passing exchanges. 6.

Kai Havertz - The German forward headed very wide when positioned well and offered little after showing early promise dropping deep to give wingers the opportunity to move on. 4.

Mykhailo Mudryk - Should have done better from Hall's pass early in the encounter but could only fluff his lines and errant touches stunted positive movements from the Ukraine international Replaced just after the hour mark. 5.

Substitutes:

Joao Felix - Looked to engage with the ball immediately after being introduced but could do little as the Blue fell apart as the game progressed. Carried the ball from deep and provide a good finish from outside the box to limit some damage. 6.

Christian Pulisic - The American's most memorable moment was a brief clash with David de Gea as the Blues struggled. 5.

David Datro Fofana - Found his way into the box pretty swiftly following his introduction but had little time to impact the game. 5.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek - Limited impact following his introduction. 5.

Hakim Ziyech - Stuck well to his defensive responsibilities and offered little else as the game head to its finale, but credited with an assist for his pass which found Felix in space. 5.
