Chelsea player ratings vs Man City as Kalidou Koulibaly and Kai Havertz struggle in FA Cup exit

Kepa Arrizabalaga - The Spanish goalkeeper was always going to come under scrutiny after his decision to not claim Jack Grealish's cross on Thursday but found himself 2-0 down via a free-kick and a penalty. Generally solid across the 90 minutes. 6.

Trevoh Chalobah - The defender made his first start since domestic football got back underway and started on the right of a back four. Did not look entirely comfortable trying to play the ball out from the side and improved as part of the back three in the second period. 5.

Bashir Humphreys - A promising start to his first outing when he dispossessed Bernardo Silva before playing a nice pass to Kai Havertz. Unfortunately, Chelsea's backline had trouble breaking past Man City's press following that for the duration of the first half. The 19-year-old was moved to the left side of a back three for the second period and remained composed. 6.

Kalidou Koulibaly - Not the most reassuring outing from the Senegal international as he kept his place for a fourth game in a row. Fouled Phil Foden for Man City's second penalty and struggled to make his presence felt upon City's forwards otherwise. 3

Lewis Hall - Did well on the ball under pressure from City's press but was unable to get forward as much as in previous meetings. A decent if unspectacular outing. 6.

Mateo Kovacic - A fairly anonymous display from the Croatian who struggled to receive the ball from the backline before being sacrificed at half-time. 4,

Jorginho - His first time pass straight out for a corner summed up Chelsea's opening half as the Italian struggled to get on the ball and his teammates struggled to find him. 4.

Conor Gallagher - Showed glimpses of promises in winning the ball high up the pitch but like his midfield partners struggled to make an impact for much of the half. Had a brief foray at wing-back before returning to the middle of the pitch in the second period. 5.

Mason Mount - A difficult return for the England international who was unable to take advantage of the few touches he had in the opening half. 4.

Hakim Ziyech - Was perhaps unfortunate not to win a free-kick when he was tripped when running through on goal and was mostly starved of possession. 5.

Kai Havertz - The 23-year-old German struggled to find his feet in the game and left people in disbelief when VAR recognised his handball in his own box. 3.

Substitutes

Denis Zakaria - Once again showed his ability to track back to win the ball but had a quieter game with the home side not feeling the pressure to attack with vigour in the second period. 5.

David Datro Fofana - Not the ideal situation in which to make your debut. Struggled for a touch. 5.

Omari Hutchinson - Showed some willing to carry the ball to try and challenge the City defence but was a little rushed as he tried to create something for his teammates. 5.

Cesar Azpilicueta - The Blues' captain came on with less than half an hour to spare and his frustration with the afternoon was still present. Gave away some unnecessary fouls but otherwise solid. 5.
