Chelsea player ratings vs Juventus U19: Wareham has instant impact, Thomas good

Ted Sharman-Lowe

Could he have done better with the goal? Perhaps not as he had to back pedal quickly but was initially in no-man's land. Good save from Malvano kept it at 2-0. 7

Brodi Hughes

Wore a clearance right in the face late in the first half which he took like a champ. Solid at left centre back, not much got past him. 7

Sam McClelland

Caught out for the Juventus opener with a simple ball over the top. Grew into the game now and dealt with former Blues youngster Iling-Junior. 7

Luke Badley-Morgan

Was targeted by Juventus early on and they exploited a lot of space down his side of the back three. Left very exposed and had nothing going forward either. Hauled off at half time with the Blues 2-0 down. 6

Joshua Brooking

Curt a frustrated figure at right wing-back as he urged his teammates to up the tempo a bit more. Moved to a right sided centre back role for the second half with Badley-Morgan replaced. Solid throughout, stood up well after half time. 8

Charlie Webster

Kept the Chelsea tempo ticking along nicely in the first half and always made himself available for a pass. A surprise to see him taken off ten minutes into the second half, seemingly without injury. 7

Lewis Hall

Snapped into some hefty early tackles to assert his presence in the middle of the park and could have put Chelsea level on the stroke of half time but blazed over. Tired in the second period and lost a bit of control in the midfield. 7

Silko-Amari Thomas

The left wing-back didn't get much joy going forward as Juve pinned him back. Had a bit more licence after half time, blazed one effort over. Clever header set up Wareham's goal. Good. 8

Joe Haigh

Frustrated in the first 45 minutes as he didn't get much his own way. Had one lively run towards the end of the first half but was shrugged off too easily. Hooked at half time. 6

Harvey Vale

Crashed a fabulous strike off the post after the Blues had fallen behind. Quiet after the break, just couldn't get into the game. 7

Jude Soonsup-Bell

Should have put Chelsea ahead in the 27th minute but his heavy touch let him down badly when attempting to round Garofani. Toiled hard for very little reward. 6

Substitutes

Bryan Fiabema (for Badley-Morgan, 46')

Immediately brought a bit more energy to the front three. No chances of not but was a good focal point. 6

Malik Mothersille (for Haigh, 46')

Played an unfamiliar right wing-back role and did it well in fairness, got up and down the flank very well. 7

Ronnie Stutter (for Webster, 55')

Scuffed a half presentable chance straight art Garofani midway through the second half. 6

Jayden Wareham (for Soonsup-Bell, 72')

Scored with his first touch, exactly what he coach would have wanted. 7

Leo Castledine (for Vale, 85') No rating.
