However, the Blues boss will be buoyed by the fact that the World Cup winner was training with the rest of the squad.
Olivier Giroud was also training with the rest of the team as well, having suffered with an illness over the course of the past week.
Youngsters Billy Gilmour, Clinton Mola and Marc Guehi were all training as well as the Blues get ready for the match in France.
Despite being in the pouring rain, the spirits certainly seemed high among the camp, with Jorginho leading the smiles among the group.
And the Blues will be keen to put three points on the board.
