Chelsea picture special: Kante, Pulisic, Mount and Hudson-Odoi train ahead of Southampton trip

Chelsea have recorded some impressive results away from Stamford Bridge this season.

The latest came on Wednesday night as they beat Lille 2-1 at the Stade Pierre Mauroy thanks to goals from Tammy Abraham and Willian to get their Champions League campaign up and running.

Next up is another away game, this time in the Premier League against Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

And Blues head coach Frank Lampard is expecting a difficult encounter at St Mary's.

"It will be a tough match against a team with a very good manager," he said at his press conference. "They are a very well organised team who play in different formations so it is hard to predict how they might come at you but they come at you with a lot of pace with how they come at you off he ball.

"They have quality players.

"It is always a difficult place to go.

"Especially when you are not at it, you have to be in tip-top shape to go there because there’s a lot of energy in their team and the crowd can get behind them if they play with that kind of intensity which they have.

"We need to match it, at least, because we want to keep our momentum going."

In terms of team news, Lampard has confirmed that N'Golo Kante is in contention to make only his fourth Premier League appearance of the season after coming through 90 minutes in midweek unscathed.

Meanwhile, Antonio Rudiger, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Emerson Palmieri remain sidelined and will not feature against the Saints.

The Blues squad including the likes of Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Jorginho and Tammy Abraham were put through their paces at the club's training base in Cobham on Friday afternoon.
