Chelsea officially say goodbye to Fikayo Tomori and Willy Caballero after confirmed release list

It's June 30 and that is a very important date in the football calendar with a number of players leaving clubs following the expiration of their contracts.

Players who have been released by teams will then be free to sign for another club with contracts starting on July 1.

Or in some cases, some players have already agreed to join a new club and their contracts will officially start from tomorrow morning.

Earlier in the month, Chelsea confirmed their releases list and fans will have spotted and discussed the number of familiar names that will be departing Stamford Bridge today.

Arguably the most high-profile name on the list is that of goalkeeper Willy Caballero, who leaves following four years in west London after joining from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer of 2017.

Also departing west London is Jamal Blackman, Izzy Brown and Marco van Ginkel - with the latter duo already agreeing to join Preston North End and PSV Eindhoven respectively.

Meanwhile, there is another player who officially leaves Chelsea today, but it's not a release.

Fikayo Tomori spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan and after impressing the Serie A side made the decision to activate the £25m option to sign him permanently.

As a result, the deal will officially go through on July 1, thus marking today as his final day contracted to the Blues.

"Fikayo Tomori will complete a permanent transfer from Chelsea to AC Milan on 1 July," a statement on Chelseafc.com reads.

Here are the players who will be leaving Chelsea on June 30, 2021:

Jamal Blackman

Izzy Brown

Declan Frith

Danilo Pantic

Willy Caballero

Marco van Ginkel

Jack Wakely

Fikayo Tomori
