Chelsea offered Joao Felix and Matheus Cunha deals with Memphis Depay an option in January transfer window

Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Joao Felix and Matheus Cunha by Atletico Madrid as they ponder whether to bring in a new striker in the January transfer window.

The Blues could look to sign another forward after losing Armando Broja to a serious knee injury. They are interested in Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko, while Barcelona forward Memphis Depay is also an option.

Broja has been ruled out for the rest of the season after he ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament during a friendly against Aston Villa in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Chelsea will explore both short and long-term options in January, with just Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kai Havertz available to lead their attack in the second half of the season.

They have agreed a £52.7million deal to sign RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku next summer, which complicates their options next month. Chelsea were offered the chance to sign Felix for £86m before they lost Broja to injury.

The 23-year-old impressed at the World Cup but has fallen out with Atletico manager Diego Simeone and the Spanish club could be open to letting him leave on loan, which could be an attractive option for Chelsea until Nkunku arrives at the end of the season.

Any temporary deal for Felix would require a significant loan fee and an option to buy him next summer. Wolves and Leeds are concerned Chelsea could hijack their approach for Atletico forward Cunha, who is stalling on their interest after being told he can move in January.

Chelsea explored a deal for Depay in the summer before moving for Aubameyang and could reignite their interest after his positive displays for the Netherlands at the World Cup. Depay has six months left on his Barcelona contract and is available in January.

Manchester United, who are also in the market for a striker in January following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, are said to be ready to be rival any bid for Felix.

Felix is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, who is close to new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly and has also negotiated with Manchester United in the past. Mendes offered Ronaldo to Chelsea in the summer but the Blues remain unconvinced that the 37-year-old is the right solution.

Chelsea are among a host of Premier League clubs trying to sign 18-year-old Germany striker Moukoko on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund. But Dortmund hope to fend off interest in Moukoko and tie him down to a new contract.
