Chelsea news: Todd Boehly prepares Mauricio Pochettino offer amid Raheem Sterling revelation

Your morning Chelsea digest on Sunday, April 30.

Gary Neville makes bold Mauricio Pochettino claim as Todd Boehly prepares Chelsea job offer

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that Chelsea have the "perfect" players for Mauricio Pochettino to take charge of ahead of next season. There is still no agreement in place between the Blues and Pochettino despite confidence being high that a deal can be struck between both parties, football.london understands

The Times have suggested that the former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain boss could be offered the job in the coming days as Chelsea figures plan to meet in Los Angeles to decide on who the new coach will be. Neville believes the Blues have the 'perfect' squad for the Argentine manager to lead forward into the 2023/24 campaign and help Chelsea forget their nightmare season.

When discussing Pochettino on The Overlap, the ex-United defender said: "I think he [Pochettino] is a really talented coach. I think Chelsea next year could really surprise us.

"Pochettino will bring the club together because he will; he’s likeable, and the players will respect him enormously. I think he’ll do a very, very good job next season."

Raheem Sterling gives honest insight into Chelsea dressing room atmosphere as struggles continue

Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has revealed that players have been left stunned by their poor form and results this season. The England international has found life at Stamford Bridge difficult in his debut season with the Blues after completing a £50million move from Manchester City last summer.

Sterling became the first signing of the Todd Boehly era back in July but has failed to emulate the form he showed at the Etihad Stadium for years that made him a regular in Manchester City's title-winning teams. The 28-year-old has scored just four goals in the Premier League in a rollercoaster season at Stamford Bridge.

Sterling has now opened up on how the players have reacted to their shocking form and results this term but admits he is 'up for the challenge' to turn it around. In an interview with The Sun, Sterling admitted: "Sometimes you have lows. I haven’t been in this situation in my career so far but I am more than up to the challenge.

"We are disappointed when we come off the pitch and feel angry and disappointed. There are times when we finish a game you just sit in the changing room looking into space because you can’t understand what has just happened."

Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali spotted ahead of huge Mauricio Pochettino meeting

Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have been spotted in Los Angeles as club figures prepare to meet today regarding the appointment of a new manager at Stamford Bridge. Former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino is leading the race to succeed Graham Potter after former Bayern Munich manager Julian Naglesmann dropped out of the running.

Boehly and Eghbali were spotted attending a Los Angeles Lakers game on Friday evening ahead of their meeting today with other club figures to decide on a new manager. The latter was asked by a spectator if Pochettino is set to become the new Chelsea manager, to which he responded: "Maybe, maybe," whilst gesturing it is 50-50 with his hand.

It seems as though the search for a new head coach is in the final stages with an update on Chelsea's decision expected in the coming days.
