Chelsea news: Todd Boehly plots shock manager swoop as dressing room make feelings clear

It's been a rotten couple of weeks for Chelsea, who were at least given the weekend to lick their wounds following their Champions League exit in midweek.

The loss against Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge means that caretaker manager Frank Lampard has lost all four of the games that he's taken charge of since he agreed to replace former Blues head coach Graham Potter until the end of the season.

And with a tricky west London derby against Brentford on the horizon, things aren't set to get any easier for the Chelsea legend. As attention turns towards Wednesday night's match, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest news from in and around Stamford Bridge...

Boehly eyes shock manager target

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has set his sights on Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as the search for the Blues' next permanent manager continues.

Boehly and co moved swiftly to install Frank Lampard as caretaker manager after dispensing with the services of Graham Potter earlier this month, but there has been no concrete news on the appointment of a permanent successor.

Former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann quickly emerged as a top candidate for the role while talks have also been held with Mauricio Pochettino, but Postecoglou's name has now cropped up in relation to the Stamford Bridge vacancy.

The Australian coach has done a fine job with Celtic, who are closing in on another Scottish title. And the Blues are a big fan of the attractive style of football that Postecoglou is renowned for and his knack for spotting exciting young talent.

Mason Mount has been urged to join Liverpool by Stan Collymore (PA)

Former Liverpool star Stan Collymore believes that Mason Mount would be making a "step up" if he decides to quit the Blues to join his former club.

Mount is currently locked in a contract wrangle with the Chelsea hierarchy and is believed to have a whole host of top clubs monitoring him ahead of the summer transfer window.

There has been plenty of speculation that Chelsea could be open to letting Mount leave if an agreement can't be reached over a new deal soon. And Collymore is adamant that a move to Anfield would be a positive for Mount, who has been at Stamford Bridge since his youth.

Chelsea could be rocked by a major dressing room exodus in the summer amid reports that up to 10 players are unhappy and considering their future at the club.

The Blues have one of the largest squads in the Premier League after splashing the cash under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, but a host of stars are less than content with life at Stamford Bridge.

Summer signings Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have already become disillusioned at the club and are just two players who could decide to move on at the end of the season.
