Chelsea news: N'Golo Kante injury update, Bayern return for Hudson-Odoi, and Pulisic's arrival

Pre-season is now well underway, with Chelsea having already played the opening two matches of their gruelling schedule.

The Blues got their first win under the stewardship of Frank Lampard, as they beat St Patrick's Athletic by four goals to nil on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Mason Mount, Emerson Palmieri and Olivier Giroud (2) gave Chelsea a comprehensive win, in a game where a number of youngsters making a play for a first team chance this season, impressed.

The Blues don't have the distraction of trying to add players to their squad, allowing Lampard and his back room staff to put their full concentration on preparing the team ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Take a look below for the biggest stories from around Stamford Bridge from the last 24 hours.

N'Golo Kante injury update

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante has missed the opening two pre-season games through injury, that is despite travelling to Ireland with the team.

The France international picked up the injury at the end of last season, and played through the pain barrier to help his team lift the Europa League trophy in the final game of the campaign.

Blues fans will be hoping that the influential midfielder will be able to take part in the remainder of pre-season, and head coach Lampard has given an injury update.

Christian Pulisic's arrival

Despite being under the restriction of a transfer ban handed to them by FIFA, Chelsea fans do have one new face to look forward to welcoming to the club for the new season.

USA international Christian Pulisic joined the club in January, but spent the remainder of the 2018/19 season on loan at former club Borussia Dortmund.

The £57.6million will join up with his Chelsea teammates soon, after helping his country to the Gold Cup final.

But when exactly will he be taking part in the pre-season preparations?

Bayern Munich to return for Hudson-Odoi?

Bayern Munich are preparing an improved £45m offer for Chelsea wide man Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to the Metro.

The 18-year-old broke into the first team under former boss Maurizio Sarri, and the Blues have seen off previous interest from Bayern in the England international.

But it seems that the Bundesliga giants are not giving up in their pursuit.

Hudson-Odoi has just one season remaining on his current deal, and is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal. If they can't come to an agreement with the teenager, Chelsea will have to decide whether to cash in or risk losing their man for free next summer.

Former youngster joins Fulham

Former Chelsea youth player Martell Taylor-Crossdale has joined Championship club Fulham after the expiry of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 19-year-old won the golden boot in the Under-18 Premier League for the Blues during the 2016/17 season.

He has signed a two-year deal with the Cottagers and will initially join the club’s U23 side.
