Chelsea news: N'Golo Kante absence, Blues banter Man United, Tammy Abraham edge, Lampard demand

Frank Lampard will have been a very happy man on Saturday night.

The Blues legend has a Premier League win under his belt as a manager at the third time of asking.

And he had Tammy Abraham, at least partly to thank after a brace at Carrow Road.

But there were other things going on behind the scenes that were worth talking about. And things that Lampard will be hoping to sort out prior to next weekend's clash with Sheffield United.

Here are the biggest Chelsea stories from the past 24 hours.

Kante worry

When the teams were read out for the lunchtime kick-off between Norwich City and Chelsea at Carrow Road there was a notable absentee.

N'Golo Kante was not in the starting lineup, nor on the bench.

The Frencha World Cup winner came off the bench on the opening day of the season and started the game with Leicester last weekend.

So where was he on Saturday?

Here's everything you need to know.

Man United response

Manchester United can't get enough of having beaten Chelsea 4-0 on the opening day of the season.

They're still crowing about it now.

But perhaps they should have been a bit more focused on the task at hand, after they lost 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace.

It was a shock defeat and one that came back to bite them on the backside after they made a social media faux pas prior to the game.

They made it worse, by trying to be humourous about it, but it was Chelsea who had the last laugh.

Find out what we're talking about right here.

Abraham edge

Tammy Abraham scored his first Premier League goals on Saturday.

The young striker took his chance with both hands to open the scoring, and close the scoring in the 3-2 win over Norwich City.

It has been something of a debate, who gets the nod up front between him and Olivier Giroud.

And Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes it's Abraham all day long.

Here's what he had to say after his brace at Carrow Road.

Lampard demand

Frank Lampard picked up his first win as Chelsea head coach on Saturday.

They did not have it all their own way, but saw off Norwich 3-2 in the end.

But none of the goals came from the one man Lampard expects to "chip in" with more goals this season.

Here's who he was referring to.

Match action

Oliver Harbord was our man in East Anglia on Saturday.

Here's how he rated the players.

And here's everything Lampard had to say after the game.
