Chelsea news: Moussa Dembele update, Lewis Dunk transfer latest, Lampard on Barkley's future

There are just two weeks left in the January transfer window - and Chelsea are still looking to add to their squad for the second half of the season.

The Blues are well-placed to qualify for the Champions League again next season, with Frank Lampard's men currently sitting fourth in the table, five points ahead of Manchester United in fifth and six points behind Leicester City in third.

But with Chelsea now able to sign players this month after having their transfer ban reduced following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Lampard has not ruled out the possibility of adding to his squad.

Several players have been linked with a move to west London, but so far only 16-year-old Norwegian striker Bryan Fiabema has joined, becoming the club's first January signing.

With a fortnight to go before the deadline, Chelsea could still strengthen this month though, and with a match against Newcastle United in the Premier League today, we take a look at the latest Blues news, below.

Lewis Dunk latest

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Graham Potter insists he is 'relaxed' about the transfer rumours surrounding Lewis Dunk and a move to Chelsea.

The Blues have struggled at the back at times this season, and with the transfer ban having been lifted they have been linked with several players this month.

One of those is the 28-year-old, who has been a key part of the Seagulls, firstly to get promotion from the Championship and then to keep them in the Premier League.

Moussa Dembele update

Chelsea are eager to make strides in the January transfer window in regards to improving the quality of their squad and Moussa Dembele is a name that won't go away.

It doesn't matter how many times that Lyon denies that Dembele is going to leave France, the rumour mill continues to go into overdrive.

This is especially true because of the fact that Lyon are aiming to be one of the most active teams this month in the transfer market, something which could turn out to be a good thing for Chelsea.

Lyon already have some well known attackers but they are bidding to bolster their depth if reports are to be believed.
