Maurizio Sarri's time at Stamford Bridge is set to come to an end with the Italian eyeing up a return to Italy to take over at Juventus.
The list of candidates to become the next Chelsea manager is already extensive, with the Blues tipped to move for a range of targets including former midfielder Frank Lampard and outgoing Juventus boss Max Allegri.
Watford manager Javi Gracia, the beaten FA Cup finalist, has been named among the more obvious links to the soon-to-be vacant position at Stamford Bridge.
Here is the latest Chelsea news from the last 24 hours.
Maurizio Sarri's biggest hint yet?
The ex-Napoli boss has spoken about his desire to return to Italy in an exclusive interview with Vanity Fair.
"For us Italians the call of home is strong," he said. "We feel that something is missing.
"It has been a heavy year. I begin to feel the weight of distant friends, elderly parents I rarely see.
"But at my age I only make professional choices. I won't be able to train for 20 years.
"It's hard work, the bench. When I return home to Tuscany I feel like a stranger."
Sounds like his heart is set on it.
Eden Hazard to Real Madrid
Luka Jovic's move to Real Madrid is confirmed. He will set back the Spanish giants a cool £62million according to reports.
Given that Zinedine Zidane has already presided over an ongoing shopping spree that has seen Eder Militao secured for £45million, Rodrygo for £40.5million and Ferland Mendy close to signing for £50million, that doesn't leave much in the kitty for Eden Hazard.
The Belgian is widely expected to move to Real Madrid as they clear out and reboot their squad, but Chelsea won't let their star leave for cheap, especially given the transfer ban that will stop them signing a replacement.
Zidane may have to complete more business before he .
If and when the Blues do need to figure out what to do without their talisman, Liverpool could offer the perfect example of how to move forward in his absence.
They sold Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho and still continued to push forward and Chelsea may already have the players to find another way next season.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks elsewhere
Once tipped to succeed Roman Abramovich as Chelsea owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe - Britain's richest man - now appears set to buy Ligue 1 club Nice.
The southern French side finish seventh this season under manager and ex-Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira, who has also emerged as a surprise contender to replace Sarri.
Ratcliffe has recently moved into the world of sport by buying out and renaming Team Sky as Team INEOS, competing in professional cycling.
