Chelsea news: Lampard learning lessons, Jody Morris title admission, Marcus Rashford message

All eyes will be on what Frank Lampard and Chelsea can do this weekend.

After defeat to Manchester United in their opening Premier League game, the Blues are already behind their big six rivals after just one match.

A game against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge will show just what Lampard has learned from the defeat to Manchester United and the Super Cup reverse to Liverpool on penalties.

Here are the biggest stories from around Chelsea in the past 24 hours.

Lampard learning

It was a chastening start to life as Chelsea boss for Frank Lampard.

A 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford was hardly how he would have dreamt of starting life as a Premier League boss.

There were positives to take from it, but the result was tough to take.

But there was no time to dwell on it, with a Super Cup final against Liverpool on Wednesday to get the Blues back in the saddle.

Here's what Lampard took from Man United and changed against Liverpool.

Jody Morris admission

It was a much better result and performance from the Blues in the Super Cup penalty shootout defeat to the Reds.

And head coach Lampard and his assistant Jody Morris were pleased enough.

However, there was one thing that Morris said afterwards that may have concerned the Chelsea supporters.

Rashford response

Tammy Abraham missed the decisive penalty as Liverpool claimed the Super Cup.

The young striker has been given the nod by Lampard to play up front for the Blues and while he netted a number of penalties during his loan spell for Aston Villa in the Championship last season, he missed in the shootout in Istanbul on Wednesday night.

Not only that, but Abraham was the subject of alleged racist abuse too.

He received some words of encouragement from another young English striker - Marcus Rashford.

Jorginho desire

Italian midfielder Jorginho was often a Chelsea scapegoat last season.

He was Maurizio Sarri's man, his main signing and his style of play drew the ire of pundits and fans alike.

Jorginho replaced N'Golo Kante at the base of the midfield and was criticised for his sideways passing.

But Jorginho wants to re-invent himself. He doesn't want to be Maurizio Sarri's man, he wants to be Chelsea's man.
