Chelsea news: Juventus plot Mason Mount transfer swoop as Todd Boehly targets striker signing

Your morning Chelsea digest on Tuesday, December 13.

Why Endrick snubbed Chelsea for Real Madrid transfer

According to The Athletic, Endrick and his family were impressed by the Blues following their visit to Cobham, but felt they were ‘more hesitant in committing to financial terms’ with a large element of the deal said to be performance-related. Todd Boehly has aimed to restructure how Chelsea offer players' contracts, with a new focus on offering incentivised contracts based on performances.

This has proved to be an issue with Mason Mount's contract negotiations as the England star wants a salary that represents his importance to the team. It is also believed that changes made by their new American co-owner to the club’s recruitment department may have also been a factor in why Endrick snubbed the Blues.

Borussia Dortmund talent emerges as striker target for Chelsea

Chelsea are exploring the possibility of bringing Borussia Dortmund talent Youssoufa Moukoko to Stamford Bridge, according to The Athletic. Moukoko became the youngest player to represent Germany at a World Cup after coming on as a substitute in the 2-1 defeat by Japan in their opening group game.

The 18-year-old is set to be out of contract at Dortmund at the end of this season and Chelsea are thought to be progressing over a summer deal, but Boehly may find a way to bring him to Stamford Bridge next month. Given the latest injury to Broja, along with Aubameyang and Kai Havertz struggling to fire the Blues up the Premier League table, attacking reinforcements are likely to be on the agenda for January.
