Chelsea news: Injury latest and predicted line up, Lampard on Kepa's future, transfer fund boost

Chelsea face Bournemouth this afternoon, with Frank Lampard and his side keen to bounce back from the 3-0 Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich.

Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski were the goalscorers as the German side earned a comfortable victory at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

But with a top four place still at stake, the Blues will now be looking to pick themselves up and dust themselves down for the trip to the Vitality Stadium.

Here is the latest news from Stamford Bridge over the last 24 hours.

Frank Lampard has revealed that a number of players are absent for the trip to the South Coast, including Christian Pulisic, N'Golo Kante, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham.

The manager had some concerning injury news about Abraham, who is struggling to shake off an ankle knock.

Eddie Howe, meanwhile, has given an update on former Chelsea centre-back Nathan Ake, who is hoping to be back for the clash.

Frank Lampard held his customary pre-match press conference on Friday, and opened up on a number of issues, including Fikayo Tomori's recent absence from the squad and transfer rumours about Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Predicted team

Chelsea fans have spoken when it comes to the big decision over who should be in goal for the Blues this weekend against Bournemouth.

Frank Lampard has been playing Willy Caballero in goal in recent weeks, with Kepa Arrizabalaga on the bench.

But Blues fans voting on our website have suggested that they think it is time for Kepa to be returned to the starting line up, after missing the last five matches in all competitions.

Surprise windfall

Chelsea's summer transfer plans are beginning to take shape .

The Blues have already confirmed the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, his £33.4m deal will officially go through on July 1, 2020 and there's talk of a move for Lyon's Houssem Aouar.

According to rumours, the west London outfit have already been in touch with the Ligue 1 outfit over a summer transfer and are said to have been quoted a price-tag of €50million (£42million).

And the Blues look set to receive a surprise windfall which would boost the budget.
