Chelsea news: Harry Kane 'ready' to follow Mauricio Pochettino as Declan Rice stance clear

Your Chelsea morning digest on Friday, April 28.

Lampard told to quit

Frank Leboeuf has advised Frank Lampard to leave Chelsea immediately following Blues' defeat to Brentford on Wednesday night. The 44-year-old has suffered a miserable return to Stamford Bridge, with the Bees extending the club's winless streak to eight games.

Speaking on ESPN, the former Blues defender said: "We've said it all you know. There is nothing I can say. Maybe to Frank Lampard - get out! Get out quickly. There is nothing you can do.

"They need a win. One win. Three points to make sure they are not going to be relegated. It's normal to concede goals. That one [Cesar Azpilicueta] is an own goal, OK that can happen but a little bit of nobody getting responsibility for going for the header. But after that second one they get the ball and Wesley Fofana - what are you doing? Go there quicker."

Moyes sends Rice message

David Moyes is determined to convince captain Declan Rice that staying at the London Stadium this summer is the best option for him. The Hammers’ captain and England star has been heavily linked with a potential summer transfer move to London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, with Rice only having just over a year left on his current contract.

However, West Ham do have a one-year option to extend Rice’s deal. The Scotsman said: "Yeah, obviously he is such an important player. He would be missed by any club, so any club who didn’t have him would miss him and we certainly would, partly because he is a big part but my hopes somewhere is that Dec thinks this is the best place for him to be.

"If somebody doesn’t come up with the right amount of money, it will continue to be the place he is as well. The club have made that pretty plain, but I hope we can continue to get the best out of Dec."

Kane hint

Harry Redknapp has suggested that Harry Kane could follow Mauricio Pochettino to Chelsea. When asked where he thinks the England captain will go in the summer on the Beyond The Pitch Podcast, the former Tottenham boss said: "It will be interesting if Pochettino goes to Chelsea.

"That wouldn’t go down well with the Tottenham fans at all that’s for sure but you never know if Pochettino's there. I'm sure Harry got on well with him. And it's a great move for him. I think he’s building a house in that area. He’s a family man and he’d probably be quite happy and not moving to the north of England or wherever he'll have to go.

"I don't see him going abroad, I really don't. The only club abroad that would interest someone like him would be a Real Madrid and I don't see that happening. I wouldn't see him going to Germany. I think, I personally, I think I've got a feeling he'll stay and sign a new contract."
