Chelsea news: Frank Lampard's worrying admission, transfer ban appeal, Emerson and Mount shine

Frank Lampard and Chelsea have two weeks now to prepare for their next match.

As is always the case, after one month of the season, the Premier League takes a break with international action on the agenda.

But that may not be a good thing, given they go into it off the back of a 2-2 draw against Sheffield United.

There has been plenty going on around the club since that draw, with players leaving the club at the end of the European transfer window and more talk of the club's two-window transfer ban.

Here we round up all the biggest Chelsea stories from the past 24 hours.

Lampard's worrying admission

Frank Lampard is nothing if not honest.

The Chelsea boss watched his side throw away a 2-0 lead against newly-promoted Sheffield United on Saturday, having to settle for a 2-2 draw.

And Lampard was honest about what went wrong and how it all went wrong.

In fact, maybe he was a little too honest for his own good as what he said may concern some fans.

Here's what he had to say.

Transfer ban appeal

Chelsea have completed half of their transfer ban but are still hoping that it will be lifted in time for them to sign players in January.

The Blues were slapped with a two-window ban by FIFA in which they cannot register any new players who are above the age of 16, after breaking regulations over the signing of youth players.

Chelsea's appeal to FIFA was thrown out, but in June they submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to have the ban overturned or taken down to just one week.

But we have not heard anything since.

Here's the latest on the CAS appeal situation.

The Loan Army

Chelsea’s loan army recruited a few more members over the past week.

The Blues have a whole host of players away from the club gaining first team experience.

But how are the rest getting on for their loan clubs?

Here's how they all got on this weekend.

Emerson and Mount

The first month of the season is behind us.

And, as expected, it is all a bit of a learning curve for Frank Lampard and his players.

The Blues stars head into the international break now, without another club game for two weeks.

So what have we learned about this new-look Chelsea side and how have the players performed so far?

Oliver Harbord rated the players on their first four games.
