Chelsea news: FIFA 20 ratings, Lampard's to-do list, top-four advantage and shock transfer plea

Not long to go now until Chelsea are back in Premier League action.

After letting a two-goal lead slip at home against Sheffield United before the international break, Frank Lampard will be hopeful getting a response from his side against Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Ahead of the game at the Molineux Stadium, here's the latest news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.

FIFA 20 ratings

The excitement around the release of FIFA 20 is really building now, with the top 100 players being revealed on Monday.

In addition, the demo was released yesterday.

There has been a lot of talk about how the FIFA 20 ratings could look this season, with the top 100 players throwing up a few surprises.

For Chelsea, they have a lot of returning loan players, most of which are talented youngsters, who weren't very highly rated on FIFA 19.

And there's a change at the top following Eden Hazard's summer move to Real Madrid.

Lampard's to-do list

Frank Lampard has several questions to ponder ahead of a big fortnight for Chelsea.

It all begins with Saturday's trip to Wolves followed by their Champions League opener at home to Valencia and Liverpool visiting Stamford Bridge on Sunday week.

Having played quite well in parts only to win just one of fives games before the international break there is now pressure on results to improve.

Here are the Chelsea head coach’s key decisions before heading to Molineux on Saturday.

Piazon's shock comments

Lucas Piazon signed a new contract at Chelsea last week.

However, the attacking midfielder has said that he sees no future at the club having been sent out for a seventh loan spell.

The forgotten Blues star was shipped out to Rio Ave for two years on the same day of his contract extension and, speaking to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, has said that he would have preferred a permanent move.

"My time at Chelsea is over," he said. "I’m 25, I’ve been on loan several times.

“I’ve been at Chelsea since 2011, I’ve been on loan almost all over Europe. I’m tired of playing here and there, I need a place where I can feel at home. I want to know that in July I will return to the same place, to the same house."

Chelsea's big advantage

Picking up points against Wolves and Liverpool could be key to the Blues and their battle to secure a top four place this season, with a key run of fixtures coming up.

The Fantasy Premier League Fixture Difficulty Ranking, or FDR, suggests that Chelsea's easiest run of the season is coming up soon.

The FDR uses a set of formulas that process key Opta data variables, along with each team's home and away form for the past six meetings, to generate a rank for the perceived difficulty of each Gameweek opponent.

The FDR key is based from one to five, with one being the easiest and five being the hardest. Unsurprisingly, Chelsea's most difficult fixtures, rated five out of five for difficulty, are expected to be Manchester City (away) and Liverpool (away).

From gameweek six, Chelsea have a great run of fixtures where they can take an advantage over top four rivals Manchester United and Arsenal, who both face slightly more troubling schedules, including a match against each other at Old Trafford.
