Chelsea news: Eden Hazard says he shares a better 'football philosophy' with Maurizio Sarri than Jose Mourinho

Eden Hazard says he enjoys playing under Maurizio Sarri more than Jose Mourinho as the Chelsea manager shares his “football philosophy”.

Sarri’s job has come under threat after Chelsea were subjected to a 6-0 demolition by Manchester City on Sunday, with the Italian saying that he would welcome a conversation with the club’s owner Roman Abramovich.

Hazard, who is still yet to clarify his future with the club, admitted to regretting his fallout with Mourinho in 2015 and claimed he’d like to play under the Portuguese manager again.

Sarri has taken somewhat of a similar approach to Mourinho in recent weeks after he called out the squad’s lack of desire and questioned Hazard’s capabilities as a leader in the dressing room.

“All the managers I’ve played for have given me something,” Hazard told Chelsea’s website.

“From when I started with Claude Puel at Lille, to now with Maurizio Sarri. They all see football in different ways which is why I’m the player I am. They have all given me important advice.

“Jose Mourinho was special, but the way Sarri and Rudi Garcia [former Lille coach] like to play is more like my philosophy of football, but they’ve all given me a lot.”

Chelsea travel to Malmo on Thursday to take on the Swedish champions in the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie.
