Chelsea news: Dortmund offer Bellingham transfer update as Mount makes World Cup promise

Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Monday, November 14.

Chelsea get Bellingham update

Chelsea's interest in Jude Bellingham has been well-documented over the past 12 months with Englishman seen as the catalyst that can begin the necessary overhaul of the Blues midfield.

Jorginho and N'golo Kante are both out of contract in the summer and Chelsea have not made a significant breakthrough in their contract talks with Mason Mount whose current deal is up in 2024, which means a midfield overhaul is desperately needed and Bellingham could be at the forefront of it.

The Blues have been linked with the teenager for the last 12 months, but there has been a new update in this transfer saga following comments made by Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.

Speaking on Bild-TV, Watzke said: "I think as soon as Qatar is over, we’re going to have a basic conversation about what he actually wants. With him, with his parents, with whom we have a very close relationship and of course with his advisor."

Mount makes Chelsea promise

After Chelsea slumped to their third successive Premier League defeat, Graham Potter and his Chelsea players will have a lot to think about over the World Cup break.

Although for some they will be heading to the tournament in Qatar and are likely thankful for a break from ongoing in west London and will be ready to start again on Boxing Day.

Mount, who was picked as part of England's 26-man squad, has issued an honest message on Instagram addressing the club's form and what they promise to do once the Premier League returns.

On Instagram, Mount said: "We haven’t played to the level we expect of ourselves as Chelsea. You all deserve more from us. When we’re back from the World Cup, we are getting straight back to it and pushing ourselves to a higher level. We have the best fans in the country and we will make you proud this season. MM."

Havertz anger explained

Chelsea players were understandably frustrated following the defeat to Newcastle and some players let their emotions get the better of them, with a melee ensuing directly after the final whistle.

The scuffle seemed to start between Dan Burn and Kai Havertz after the latter was fouled off the ball in the final knockings of the game and football.london has the reason why the issue boiled over.

Take a look what happened between the pair and a few other moments you may have missed here.
