Chelsea news: Christian Pulisic's Eden Hazard claim, Ross Barkley's position, Kurt Zouma transfer

Chelsea may not have been able to make a signing this summer but it has nevertheless been an incredibly busy one.

The appointment of Frank Lampard has seen a change in tact for the Bllues and with the transfer ban, it might be time for the youth to finally get a chance.

Despite that, it is a newcomer to the club that is getting everyone excited. Christian Pulisic has not been around the squad long but he has made his intentions clear so far in Japan.

Take a look at what Pulisic has said and other Chelsea news below:

Kurt Zouma transfer news

Marco Silva appears at the cusp of moving on from his pursuit of Chelsea's Kurt Zouma. The Everton boss was hoping to sign the defender after a year on loan at Goodison Park but a move is yet to come to fruition.

“You are right, you are right," he answered when asked if there will have to be a cut off point in negotiations, as reported by the Liverpool Echo .

“Of course, one of the most important things for me, since we finished the season, is to keep our level.

“It is very, very good for us that we could do that with Andre [Gomes] and our most important players until now, because it was not just Andre and Kurt.

“The most important players in our squad are still here at our club, the 15 or 16 players who played the most are still here until this moment, other than Kurt.

“Let's see what we can do in this situation.”

Christian Pulisic news

When you're a young winger who comes to the club in the wake of Eden Hazard's departure, comparisons are inevitable.

It is not something the USA international wants to consider however.

Pulisic goal in Chelsea training

"I'm not here to compare or anything," he said.

"Obviously Eden was amazing and he did so well for this club, as you could see last season and the whole time he's been here. He was an incredible player.

"For me, it's coming in as my own player, proving myself and doing the best I can to help this team.

"Right now it's going in and helping the team whatever way I can. It's just bringing an intensity into the training first of all and earning respect in the beginning.

"Then I want to make an impact as much as I can on the pitch."

Ross Barkley news

Rob Guest, our reporter in Japan assessed Ross Barkley's performance and what it might mean for the midfielder.

"The England international came on at the break and was another player to impress his boss.

"Played on the left of a midfield three last season under Maurizio Sarri, Lampard played Barkley in the No.10 role following his introduction for the remaining 45 minutes.

"It's a role that certainly gets the best out of the player and he looked incredibly dangerous when on the ball.

"Teeing up Mount early on for his curling effort, Barkley then picked out Kenedy twice with brilliant passes but the Brazilian couldn't find the net on both occassions.

"The No.10 position may be the one that sees Chelsea get the very best out of the talented player."
