Chelsea news: Champions League draw, Reece James opportunity, Callum Hudson-Odoi dilemma

What does the European transfer window still hold for Chelsea?

A number of players have been linked with a Stamford Bridge exit, but who will go and who will stay?

For Frank Lampard, his eyes are focused on the Premier League clash with Norwich City this weekend, and he has some decisions to make, particularly with players returning from injury.

Here we round up the biggest Chelsea stories from the past 24 hours.

Callum Hudson-Odoi dilemma

Callum Hudson-Odoi has handed Frank Lampard a massive boost by returning to training.

The teenager has been out of action since the end of April, having suffered an Achilles injury.

But he is fit and raring to go, if photos from training this week are anything to go by.

And while it is a boost for Lampard, it also give the head coach a bit of a selection headache too.

Here's why.

Reece James chance

Davide Zappacosta's move to Roma will have Reece James a chance that Chelsea fans have been hoping for for some time.

Zappacosta's time at Stamford Bridge appears to be coming to an end with the Italian international currently back in his home country to complete a season-long loan move to Roma.

The 27-year really has struggled to make his mark in west London following his transfer from Torino two years ago and he hasn't done nowhere near enough to push Azpilicueta for a place in the team despite the Spaniard's recent struggles.

That opens the door for James to challenge Azpilicueta for the right-back berth, but there is so much more to James than just being competition for Azpilicueta.

Here's our analysis of the young full-back.

Champions League draw

The draw for the group stage of the Champions League will take place at the end of next week.

The final six qualifiers for the 2019/20 tournament will be revealed next Wednesday, with the conclusion of the second legs of the play-off round.

Chelsea will be in pot one for the draw, having won the Europa League last season. But who could they get in the draw?

Here we take a look at the best and worst case scenarios for Frank Lampard's men.

Bakayoko transfer

It looked as if Tiemoue Bakayoko did not have a future at Chelsea.

The midfielder has struggled to tie down a place in the first team, under Antonio Conte or Maurizio Sarri and it did not look as if he was part of Frank Lampard's plans either.

Monaco were interested in signing him, but the Blues have blocked the transfer.
