Chelsea news: Callum Hudson-Odoi's comeback, injury boost ahead of Liverpool, Drogba on Abraham

It's been an up and down season for Chelsea and Frank Lampard.

After failing to win three of their opening four games in the Premier League prior to the international break, the Blues enjoyed a 5-2 win over Wolves last weekend.

But they failed to capitalise on that win as they were beaten 1-0 by Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Blues don't have much time to reflect on the game against the La Liga outfit as they're back in action on Sunday afternoon.

It's the return of Premier League football as Chelsea host league leaders Liverpool who are also coming off a shock 2-0 loss against Napoli in midweek.

With that said, here's all the news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.

Hudson-Odoi back in the goals

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James continued their comebacks from injury on Saturday with the Under-23s.

The 18-year-old winger celebrated his new five-year contract with a goal against Southampton, and helped to set up the second in a 2-0 win.

Both players were substituted after 75 minutes, and could play a part in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town next week.

Keep them closed, Fikayo!

It happens to the best of them.

Tammy Abraham was nutmegged twice in Chelsea training, and the striker was intent on getting some revenge.

Injury boost ahead of Liverpool

Emerson Palmieri has hinted that he could be playing a part for Chelsea against Liverpool on Sunday.

The 25-year-old picked up a knock on international duty for Italy, but could return to action this weekend.

Didier Drogba's prediction about Tammy Abraham

It's been an exciting start to the season for Tammy, with seven goals in his last three Premier League games.

And Didier Drogba says he always had belief that the striker would come good.
