Chelsea are among a number of Premier League clubs enjoying a mid-season break ahead of the final part of the 2019/20 season.
The break is the first time that the league has taken the decision to give players and fans a rest after what has been a busy festive period and start to 2020.
The Blues may be grateful for the extra preparation time, especially given that they face three crucial home games when they return to action.
Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich all visit Stamford Bridge in both the league and Champions League over the next two weeks, and it is three games that could define the Blues' season as they look to hold onto a top four place.
As preparations continue, here is the latest news from Stamford Bridge.
Billy Gilmour's new role
Billy Gilmour has described it as a "massive moment" for him after being promoted to Chelsea's first team on a permanent basis.
The teenager was told by Blues head coach Frank Lampard that he would be forming part of the senior squad moving forward following the 2-2 draw with Leicester City earlier this month.
Gilmour travelled with the Chelsea squad to the King Power Stadium, but did not feature against the Foxes and was not involved in the matchday squad of 18.
But he has made five appearances for Chelsea's first team so far this season, with his Premier League debut coming in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge back in August.
Dembele caution
Chelsea and Manchester United have both been urged to avoid signing Moussa Dembele this summer.
The striker was said to be on both club's wishlist in the January transfer window, though Frank Lampard denied that the Blues were planning a move for the 23-year-old.
Dembele stayed at Lyon, with Chelsea unable to bring in any players in the winter transfer window, while United opted to sign Odion Ighalo on a six-month loan deal from Shanghai Shenhua.
Both clubs are now apparently considering a move for Dembele in the summer transfer window, but have been told they should be looking elsewhere.
Rail seating update
Manchester United have confirmed plans to move ahead with the addition of rail seating at Old Trafford.

United are among a number of clubs said to be keen on trialling the seats in the stadium, which have been successful elsewhere.
Rail seating is common in Europe, with the most famous example being Borussia Dortmund's 'Yellow Wall' - a single stand that hold up to 26,000 fans on Bundesliga matchdays.
United squad latest
It's just five days until the Blues will be taking on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
And Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that deadline day signing Odion Ighalo will be included in the travelling squad to face Chelsea after the winter break.
The former Watford man signed a loan deal at Old Trafford until the end of the season as the Red Devils looked to add more goals to their squad.
Ighalo has been training with performance coach Wayne Richardson with the aim of being ready for the game against Chelsea.
