Chelsea name their price for Michy Batshuayi as former CEO regrets Crystal Palace flop transfer

Crystal Palace have enjoyed a fine season in the Premier League.

So much so that fans and pundits are tipping them for a late shy at the European places come the end of the campaign.

Veteran manager Roy Hodgson is performing miracles in south London and the Eagles will be looking to continue their fine recent form when they travel to Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend.

All the latest Palace news, including a look at a possible transfer, is below in our round-up of the biggest stories from around the club in the past 24 hours.

Michy Batshuayi transfer

The Crystal Palace fans took Michy Batshuayi to their hearts when he was on loan at Selhurst Park.

The Belgian striker spent the second half of last season in south London, scoring five goals in 11 Premier League games.

And it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he could find himself back there in the not too distant future.

Batshuayi is down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and will be looking for a move away from the club this summer.

Palace could be an option, although it would cost Roy Hodgson and Steve Parish in the region of £45million to sign him permanently, according to the Express .

Sorloth regret

Crystal Palace could have plenty of regrets around Alexander Sorloth come next season.

The Norwegian striker is banging in the goals in the Turkish Super Lig, having failed to fire in the Premier League.

And he can make his move to Trabzonspor permanent at any time between now and the end of his two-year loan spell for a meagre £5.3million.

But the Eagles will not be the only ones to regret Sorloth's deal.

The frontman used to play for Groningen and was sold to Midtjylland for £500,000 in 2017.

former Groningen CEO Hans Nijland was quoted by  Fotospor  as saying: “He was a talented striker.

“Now look at him in Turkey. Who would have thought? they are calling him ‘King of the North’ and now the same Groningen fans who didn’t rate him want him back.

“If only we had kept him.”

Cahill ambition

Gary Cahill has been talking up the Eagles' hopes and ambitions for the rest of the season.

The defender, signed on a free from Chelsea in the summer, has impressed at Selhurst Park this season.

And he has been talking about what the rest of the season holds.

Palace have moved away from the Premier League relegation zone and are now 12 points clear of safety.

They are just six points shy of fifth spot, but Cahill is not looking at European football just yet.
