Chelsea morning headlines as Sancho closes in on Man United transfer and Abraham contract update

Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Thursday, March 26.

Manchester United close in on £120million Jadon Sancho transfer

According to the Mirror, Manchester United are growing in confidence about securing Jadon Sancho's services this summer in a spectacular £120million deal.

The Borussia Dortmund and England winger is set to be the subject of a fierce battle between some of the top clubs in Europe once the summer transfer window opens, with Chelsea having been tipped to lead the chase to sign him given his ties to the club, Frank Lampard and friendship with members of the squad at Cobham.

However, United are said to be ready to pay a higher price for the 20-year-old to beat the Blues and other teams including Liverpool to land the youngster.

A transfer fee of £120million would see Sancho replace Paul Pogba as the new record signing at Old Trafford.

Tammy Abraham sends message to Sancho and clarifies his future at Chelsea

March 25 saw a number of footballers take to social media to send messages to Jadon Sancho on his 20th birthday, including Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham - one of the players who shares a close bond with the attacking midfielder.

After Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford messaged the Dortmund winger, the Chelsea frotnman was quick to step in and make a joke about their interaction.

In a caption to an image of Rashford in training with Sancho posted on the United attacker's Instagram account he wrote: "Happy birthday bro!! Enjoy your day, indoors!"

Sancho soon replied to tell Rashford he appreciated the thought which saw Abraham spring into action with his own reply: "Stay away from my Jadon!"

Abraham also used his own Instagram account to clarify his contract situation.

In response to a post about his future that repeated a claim in the Telegraph that the striker had not demanded a £180,000 per week deal, he replied: "Finally some real news!"

Tiemoue Bakayoko wants Milan return

Former Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko remains convinced that he must leave Chelsea after failing to find his feet in the Premier League according to Calciomercato with Milan his preferred destination after rediscovering his best form with the Serie A side.

In a report cited by the Mail it is claimed that he is intent on heading back to the club where he was sent on loan after struggling with the Blues.

Franck Kessie is said to be the issue with the Ivorian blocking any plans to make a permanent move for Bakayoko. The two players fill a similar niche in the squad and after Milan were unable to move on the 23-year-old it became impossible to agree a deal for the Chelsea midfielder.

However, Bakayoko has not given up hope and apparently views Milan as his dream move, with a sale this summer potentially helping the Blues to put together the cash they need to make an improved offer for - you guessed it - Jadon Sancho.
