Here are the Chelsea morning headlines for Monday, August 3.
Lampard keen to bolster defence
Chelsea have already improved their attacking options ahead of the new season, with Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech having joined the club.
The Blues are also keen to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.
And the spending spree won’t stop there if Frank Lampard gets his way. According to the Mail, the Chelsea manager wants to add one more after Havertz’s arrival.
Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell is the man said to be top of Lampard’s list.
It seems a deal could be possible too, as Express Sport understand Chilwell is ready to tell his club that he wishes to join Chelsea.
Jorginho’s advice didn’t help Zouma
There aren’t many advantages to playing football matches in deserted stadiums, bereft of fans. One interesting aspect is that you can hear what the players are saying to each other though, giving an insight into how they help each other through a match.
BT Sport posted a ‘Listen In’ video on Twitter, which revealed that Jorginho shouted: "Yes Zou. Right foot" as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang approached Kurt Zouma during the game on Saturday.
But the Arsenal man cut onto his left, and scored the goal which won the FA Cup for Arsenal.
“Ah, Zou”, said Jorginho, and Blues fans everywhere no doubt thought the same.
Pulisic provides injury update
Christian Pulisic has enjoyed an excellent debut season with Chelsea, which included opening the scoring in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
However, he suffered a suspected hamstring injury during the game and was unable to complete the match.
Pulisic has thanked and reassured Chelsea fans regarding his return, on Instagram yesterday.
"Gave it everything we had," he wrote. "Wasn’t our day.
"Thank you guys for your support, I’ll be back in no time."
