Chelsea morning headlines as Miralem Pjanic deal rejected and Jadon Sancho omission explained

Here are the Chelsea morning headlines for Monday, June 22.

Blues reject Juventus swap deal

Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly keen to work with Jorginho at a third different club.

Sarri is now in charge of Juventus, and according to CalcioMercato , (via the Daily Express) he has offered Miralem Pjanic in a potential swap deal for the 28-year-old in a bid to bring him back to Serie A.

However, the report states Chelsea are looking to keep Jorginho and have rejected the offer.

Speaking on Match Of The Day 2 on Sunday evening, former England international Danny Murphy claimed the impending arrivals of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner may have inspired the existing Blues squad to put in a decent performance.

"I think the signings give a kick up the backside to those players who thought they were in a comfortable position. 'I've got to kick on, I've got to show the manager I’m worth a place in this team',” he said.

Chelsea’s next match sees them host Manchester City on Thursday. Full story
