Giroud: Juventus move is “far from the truth”
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has admitted his surprise at reports linking him with a move to Juventus.
The Frenchman, who signed a one-year contract extension at the end of last season, brushed off suggestions that he will join the Italian club.
"I was surprised to receive messages from mates talking about the Juventus rumour," he told French outlet Telefoot. "It is far from the truth.
"I am a Chelsea player and I feel good here.
"I did not have a great end of season just to leave without a bit of faith.”
The 33-year-old faces increased competition in Chelsea’s attack, with the arrival of Red Bull Leipzig striker Timo Werner in the summer.
Chelsea say “no” to Christian Eriksen deal
Chelsea have rejected the chance to sign Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to The Guardian.
Inter – who only bought the Dane from Tottenham Hotspur back in January – are keen to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, but do not have the funds to make an acceptable offer outright.
Instead, they initially offered a swap deal for Marcelo Brozovic. But when Chelsea knocked it back, Antonio Conte’s Inter offered Eriksen, only to be rejected once again.
Jorghino one of four who could leave Chelsea as Lampard plots Rice move
Four Chelsea players have been pinpointed for the exit door in a move which could fund a deal for West Ham United star Declan Rice.
The Daily Star has suggested that four players could be axed by Blues head coach Frank Lampard, as he continues to plot an overhaul of his squad.
The report suggests that Italian midfielder Jorginho, outcasts Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Dinkwater, and Danish defender Andreas Christensen would be let go without much of a fight.
