Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Saturday, July 4.
Bayer chief makes Havertz admission
Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has admitted their attacking star Kai Havertz may leave the club this summer.
Havertz has been linked with a move away with Chelsea and Real Madrid among the clubs strongly linked to the German ace.
"We have an agreement: if it fits, he can go this summer," Voller told German media outlet Bild, via football.london.
"As of now, he is a player of ours. We have our ideas, we know what he can do. I personally hope that he stays one more year.
"Of course, you can't force anyone. Havertz knows what he owes to his colleagues, the fans and the club."
Voller's admission came on the same day that Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed his club could not afford a deal for the 21-year-old.
He said: "We have a really big financial challenge ahead of us. Even if we wanted the player, we could not finance it this year."
Lampard hope on Willian deal
Willian is set to leave Stamford Bridge after a memorable seven-year stint when his contract expires this summer.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move across London to either Arsenal or Tottenham, but Blues boss Frank Lampard has not ruled out the winger remaining at Chelsea.
“I haven’t given up hope on it,” Lampard said, in quotes cited by football.london. “The club is still in discussions with him. We want him to stay at the club.
“But I also appreciate the fact that this contract for Willian is a big deal for him because of his age and where he’s at. I’ve been there before myself and I respect that.
“But the way he’s playing at the minute shows his worth to the squad and the group and it’s something that I hope we can get to.
“Whatever way with Willian he’s been a great servant to the club and if we can get it I will be happy.
“If not I will certainly wish him well because I’ve got a lot of time for him as a player. In the short-term we can see what he’s doing for us. It’s ongoing.”
Blues identify Villarreal defender
Chelsea will be hopeful of bolstering their back-line this summer and Villarreal central defender Pau Torres is a transfer target.
That is according to a report in The Mail, who outline how the defender has been linked to a host of other clubs including Manchester City and Barcelona.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed an impressive campaign with The Yellow Submarine and has been called up to the Spanish national team.
Torres has a release clause in his contract which means he could be prised away from the Spanish club for £45million.
