Chelsea morning headlines as Coutinho swap eyed and Lampard sends Abramovich transfer demand

Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Wednesday, April 15.

Coutinho-Kante swap deal on the cards

Philippe Coutinho is hoping to complete a return to the Premier League this summer, with Chelsea his preferred choice among the interested parties.

That’s according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, who report that Barcelona could propose a swap deal with the Blues which would see N’Golo Kante go the other way.

With the current football shutdown impacting teams’ finances, the report claims that teams will be more open to straight swap deals and a Coutinho-Kante trade is looking like a real possibility.

Pulisic offers injury update

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic says his recovery is going well after “freak” injury earlier this season.

“It was really tough with this most recent one,” he told the club’s official website . “I think that a lot of people didn’t realise how serious it was.

“It was a really freak injury in how it happened. It happened in training out of nothing really and it put me out a while. But I’m feeling good now, I’ve been training a lot and I’m just really excited to get back out on the field.

“It feels like it’s been a long time without football for everyone at the moment, but certainly for me because I had the injury on top of everything that’s going on now.”

Lampard makes Jovic demand

Blues boss Frank Lampard has reportedly told the powers that be at Stamford Bridge that he wants to sign Luka Jovic on loan from Real Madrid this summer.

The Serbian striker has failed to make an impact at the Bernabeu since completing a €65million (£56.7million) move from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and it has been reported that Zinedine Zidane is willing to let Jovic leave on a temporary basis next season.

According to Spanish publication Sport, Lampard is keen to bring in the 22-year-old as looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
