Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Monday, July 20.
Chelsea yet to decide on Henderson
Chelsea benefitted from a poor performance from David de Gea at Wembley yesterday in their 3-1 FA Cup semi-final victory - and they may yet sign the man who is primed to potentially take the Spaniard’s place at Old Trafford.
The Blues have been strongly linked with Dean Henderson, the Manchester United goalkeeper who has spent the last two seasons on loan and impressing with Sheffield United.
But according to The Express, they are yet to decide whether to make a bid for the player or not.
The report also claims that Andre Onana of Ajax could be an alternate target for the position after continued questions over Kepa Arrizabalaga’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
Mount is ‘best of the bunch’
Mason Mount scored Chelsea’s second goal in their FA Cup win over United yesterday and former Red Phil Neville was fulsome in his praise of Mount after the match.
“You think of Maddison and Grealish, I actually think he’s the best of that bunch at the moment. He keeps getting better,” he said.
And Ashley Cole stated his belief that Mount should be receiving more international recognition.
“For me, he should be around it (the England team),” Cole said.
Chelsea's best performance of 2019/20?
After three losses to Manchester United earlier in the campaign, Chelsea got some revenge by beating them at Wembley yesterday.
Frank Lampard was asked after the match if he thought it was the Blues’ best performance of the season, and his response indicated it might have been.
"It is a great achievement for us to get there,” he said.
“To win a semi is a great thing but to win a final is THE thing. It is certainly up there because of the size of the game and the quality of the opponent but we have had some good performances this season, we are progressing, we are getting better.
“There have been recent bumps but today was a performance of huge character and personality, work ethic and quality. So I am very happy."
