Delay in Havertz deal outlined
Chelsea are yet to complete the signing of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen due to Frank Lampard’s focus on this weekend’s FA Cup final against Arsenal.
The Guardian report that Lampard will only make decisions on who he wants to sell from his current squad after Saturday’s final. Chelsea are reportedly only able to sign Havertz once players are sold to fund the move.
Havertz is believed to be on the verge of signing for the Blues but the Chelsea boss will only be able to make a move once other players’ futures are solved.
By leaving that until after the cup final on Saturday, Lampard hopes to keep high spirits among the squad to ensure they have the best chance of sealing silverware.
Chelsea handed summer transfer boost
Chelsea have reportedly received a boost in their quest to sign more world class players this summer.
Havertz has been widely linked with a move alongside others including Ben Chilwell and Jan Oblak, but the Blues will only be able to afford them with funds coming from a range of different streams.
One of those could be from potential sell-on clauses in the contract of former winger Jeremie Boga who is on Everton’s transfer wishlist for £35million, according to Sky Sports.
The Sassuolo winger’s move in the transfer window could further strengthen Chelsea’s hand with regards to bringing players in due to them getting a percentage of the fee that he is sold for.

Coutinho backed for Premier League return
Brazil legend Rivaldo believes Philippe Coutinho will return to the Premier League this summer.
Chelsea have been touted as a potential suitor for the former Liverpool playmaker and his fellow compatriot thinks a move back to England would suit him.
Coutinho has endured a tough time at Barcelona and on loan at Bayern Munich since leaving Anfield but Rivaldo thinks a return would suit his career.
”Philippe Coutinho will soon return from his loan at Bayern to Barcelona, but I doubt he can revive his career there,” he told BetFair.
“His best option could be returning to English football where he spent the best seasons of his career and in which his qualities seem to be best suited, as he proved at Liverpool when he was one of the best players in the Premier League.”
