Here are the Chelsea morning headlines for Wednesday, July 29.
Chilwell ‘wants to quit’ Leicester in favour of Blues move
Leicester City left-back and Chelsea transfer target Ben Chilwell is reportedly set to tell the club that he wants to move to Stamford Bridge.
The England international has been linked with a move to the Blues in order to address the left-back issue and the Mirror report that he is going to inform the Foxes that he wants to leave the club.
Brendan Rodgers’ side will likely demand a high fee for the left-back, who is contracted until 2024, and past experience of selling players for a top price certainly strengthens that possibility.
Therefore, the prospect of Chilwell being able to force a move could depend on Chelsea’s valuation of the 23-year-old.
Atletico Madrid confirm Oblak ‘offers’ after Chelsea links
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has outlined the club have received offers for Jan Oblak, amid reported interest from Chelsea.
Frank Lampard’s side are believed to be on the search for a new number one after poor performances from Kepa Arrizabalaga since his arrival, and Oblak is the latest name to be linked.
The La Liga club’s president has noted he isn’t surprised Oblak has been linked to other top sides in Europe given his world class quality.
"For me, Oblak, and I'm speaking as a fan, is the best goalkeeper in the world,” Cerezo told Marca.
“In respect to Courtois, he's another one of the great goalkeepers in the world and fortunately both of them have worn our strip and we've won trophies with both of them."
He added: "I always say that Oblak has a contract with Atletico and he's the best goalkeeper in the world. It's not unusual that he attracts offers from other big clubs."
Werner spotted at Chelsea training for the first time
New signing Timo Werner has been spotted training at the club’s Cobham training complex for the first time.
The German international recently completed the switch from RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga after an impressive few seasons in the German top-flight.
He trained alongside his new teammates who will be preparing to face Arsenal in the FA Cup final on Saturday evening at Wembley.
