Moises Caicedo has reacted to Chelsea fans comparing him to club greats N'Golo Kante and Claude Makelele.
The £115million man has enjoyed a stunning start to the season. While more known as a midfield enforcer, Caicedo has added a more attacking edge to his game in the opening months of campaign with three goals in seven Premier League games.
Goals against Brentford and, most recently, Liverpool have earned crucial points for the Blues and much praise from fans of the club and beyond.
But Caicedo continues to remain humble, much like club legends Kante and Makelele, who the Ecuadorian has most regularly been compared to since his arrival in 2023.
Asked his thoughts on being compared to the pair, Caicedo told the club's official website: "It’s so good the fans love me, but for sure I am very far from N’Golo Kante or Makelele.
"What they did here was a lot. I am going to keep working because I want to become a legend here and reach a lot of things with this amazing club."
Speaking about his long-range strike against Liverpool, which opened the scoring in a 2-1 win on Saturday, Caicedo revealed that it was his aim this season to score from distance.
He continued: “It was a great goal, I told myself this season I had to score one from outside the box, and I did it!”
